7 home games and meeting with Coach P

The UConn football schedule for the 2016 is out and here are four quickie takes:

  1. A whopping seven home games, albeit with no real signature game(s). Two of the first three non-league opponents fired their coaches last season, so you get the idea on their quality.
  2. September will be tough with a pair of challenging AAC road games at Navy and Houston. In fact, a bad opening month could hurt attendance down the line (two home games in the cold of November).
  3. The second to last game is at Boston College. This is off to play a non-conference game that late but interesting for the Cheshire angle (Steve Addazio and Paul Pasqualoni).
  4. Probably nice to skip Memphis this year, but at USF (9-5 last year) could be interesting.

All in all, the big uptake here is the seven home games with an opportunity to improve upon the average attendance of just over 28,000 (12,000 or so below an already small capacity).
